Our Journey
The Rustic Dish began with a simple idea, to create beautiful, long-lasting pieces for the home, made from natural materials.
What we found early on was that truly distinctive kitchen and serving pieces were surprisingly hard to come by. After exploring different materials, olive wood stood out immediately. Its rich grain, durability and natural character made it ideal for creating products that feel both practical and special.
What started as a small food blog has since grown into The Rustic Dish, a UK-based brand specialising in personalised gifts, olive wood boards and thoughtfully designed homeware.
Natural Materials, Chosen to Last
Olive wood remains at the heart of our collection.
We source our wood from farms and groves across Southern Europe and North Africa, where older trees that have reached the end of their fruiting life are carefully removed and repurposed. This ensures the material is not wasted, while allowing growers to replant and invest in younger trees.
Alongside olive wood, we also work with acacia, a fast-growing and widely recognised sustainable material used across our homeware range.
The result is a collection of olive wood chopping boards, serving boards and personalised gifts that combine durability, natural beauty and everyday practicality.

From our workshop in the East Anglian countryside, every product is designed, engraved and finished by our team.
