Our Journey
How we got to where we are (It's really just an "about us" page)
We started off with a love of natural products but were having a difficult time finding beautiful rustic kitchen and serving ware. After investigating different wood types, we agreed that olive wood was one of the world's most beautiful woods and quickly realised it would fit in with our commitment to provide long-lasting, beautiful, durable, naturally made sustainable products. So, what was once a food blog (many years ago) was transformed into The Rustic Dish that you see today. We have since expanded our range into personalised gifts and homeware but remained true to our company mission and vision, which is to continue to source and promote handcrafted, responsibly sourced products and materials from around the world. Nearly all our products are designed in-house but made for us by artisans from North Africa, India, France and Italy.
Our olive wood is sourced from farms and groves that normally discard their very old trees that had come to the end of their natural fruiting life. We are incredibly passionate about this as it allows the fruit farmers to reinvest in new, younger, more productive trees. This injection of investment allows those farms to continue employing their family members and workers from the surrounding local communities in some of the poorest regions of the world.
We now source and use acacia as it is regarding as a very sustainable material due to it rapid growth rate.
We are located in the beautiful UK East Anglian countryside where we design, personalise, engrave, brand and finish the raw products that come in from all over the world.....and we absolutely love what we do!
Every member of staff at The Rustic Dish is committed to providing an outstanding customer experience combined with high quality amazing products and engraving work. If you have any questions regarding The Rustic Dish's range then please feel free contact us.
